God has been teaching me some lessons in life and love and dealing with people. I was recently involved in a conflict and did not behave reverently or appropriately. However, God humbled me and taught me that I need to remember to see others thru His eyes and love others thru His heart. The Word tells us that we should esteem others greater than ourselves. I had temporarily got caught up in self and failed to "esteem" others greater than myself. My feelings and what was done to me was my focus. I got way too busy and was unable to spend time with my Lord for days, and did not allow myself quality sleep and rest either. As a result a situation got momentarily out of control. There is an acronym I like: B.U.S.Y. = Being, Under, Satan's, Yoke! When we allow ourselves to get too busy we allow Satan a foothold, which the Word of God warns us about. Without quality time alone with God we are vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy and most times fall into his trap. We must always remember that it's not about me! But, it is all about God, His kingdom, and winning lost souls! I think we would all get along so much better and this world would be in a better state if we would all focus all our attention on Christ and what He is doing around us, rather than on self, what I want and what makes ME happy!
Jesus suffered much for us, for our freedom from sin, death, Hell, and the grave. He gave His life for you and me. Who are no better than our Lord; we can NOT suffer any less than Him, nor can we think we deserve to be treated better. If we consider our "brothers and sisters" better than us, focus our attentions on their rights and feelings, we will not be so concerned about our own rights and feelings, etc., and will therefore be much happier and well adjusted people of God and in the community.
